About Us

We are a small, simple company. We have lived the greater part of our lives in San Antonio. Most of our family still calls San Antonio home. When we've had need to travel across the country, to Mexico and Canada, our mention of San Antonio as "home" has always caused strangers to fondly reminisce their own visits to San Antonio.

And what do visitors say they remember most? The people, the food, the Riverwalk, the Alamo, the Missions, and ofcourse, Fiesta. Through our products, we hope to stir up those old memories, and make some new ones for our customers.

Our Name: Algo Dulce 

Our company takes the Spanish term algo dulce, meaning something sweet as its name.  As a young boy I recalled the many times my mom would search the kitchen and pantry for "something sweet".  After a thorough search she would dispatch my dad to run down to Segovia's for a box of her favorite candy.  Getting her a box from the store was always a hit. 

Visitors and locals to San Antonio have had a similar experience when yearning for something special ... like a great piece of Segovia Mexican candy! Our "Customer Stories" section of our website is testimony to the phenominal loyality to the Segovia brand.  Since 2000, our online store has been blessed to serve thousands of customers throughout the United States in satisfying that urge for something sweet.

My mom was a Segovia and sister to the patriarch, Rudolfo Segovia of the Segovia Mexican Candy company.  My mom passed away a number of years ago.  I dedicated the name of our business, AlgoDulce, in her memory.   

Our mission is to bring our customers the sweet taste of San Antonio's best in Mexican candy: Segovia Mexican Candy!

After years of procastination, we set out to bring our idea to life. With the encouragement of friends, relatives and the need to supplement a growing family budget, we established our company. At 3:11 PM, July 25, 2000, AlgoDulce was officially launched. The rest is history.
